Danish conductor Maria Badstue returns to France and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice with an immersive, hour-long program, “From Beethoven to Bartók”, aptly billed by the orchestra as a program that travels “from the most modern of classics to modernity in love with classicism!”. Violinist Sarah Nemtanu performs as soloist in Beethoven’s dazzling Violin Concerto, followed by Bartók’s masterful Concerto for Orchestra.

Maria Badstue will be part of the disinguised jury of the Mendelssohn International Conducting Competition chaired by Dmitry Sitkovetsky. The competition takes place from january 13-18 i Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
Other jury members include Vittorio Parisi, Oleg Caetani, Tillmann Böttscher, Myriam Nemcova and Susanna Caetani.
